
Rob Liskamp studied chemistry and did his Ph.D.
Bio-organic Chemistry at the University of Nijmegen (1982) working
with Harry Ottenheijm. Post-doctoral research was carried out in the
group of I. Bernard Weinstein in The Institute of Cancer Research and
in the group of W. Clark Still, Department of Chemistry, Columbia
University, New York. In 1986 he moved to the University of Leiden. In
1994 he became associate professor at Utrecht University and in 1996
professor of molecular medicinal chemistry and chairman of the
department of medicinal chemistry. He has a joint appointment at the
faculties of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Chemistry. His research
interests include biologically active modified peptides and
peptidomimetics, combinatorial chemistry, dendrimers, peptide folding,
molecular recognition and synthetic receptors.
